FATHER and SON

Martin’s Horology began as a shared passion between father and son — a love for all things mechanical. From bikes and cars to the intricate beauty of watches. That fascination naturally led us into the world of watches, where precision, design and craftsmanship come together in perfect harmony. Every watch we handle represents more than just time — it reflects the care, curiosity, and connection that inspired us to create Martin’s Horology.

One watch started it all - my dad’s Oris TT1 Divers Ref. 7533.

As a kid, I’d always ask my dad to show me his watch so I could see the movement come alive through the display back case. Seeing the gears in motion sparked my fascination with watches and ignited a lifelong passion for horology. I’ve always loved all things mechanical - from bikes to cars and everything in between - but there’s something truly special about the precision and artistry inside a watch. Having raced mountain bikes and worked in a bike shop, keeping the bike well maintained and functioning smoothly was a great lesson in mechanical preparation and repair. Every watch I buy and sell still reminds me of the original sense of wonder created by dad’s Oris.

After more than thirty years in corporate sales roles in the UK and Australia, it was time for a new challenge and new goals. A challenge and opportunity that I could share with my son, Fin. We’ve always liked watches, so it was an obvious choice to turn our passion into a business. Martin’s Horology is a chance to build a venture with Fin, meet people with a shared passion and expand our own collections! When we’re not working on our business, you’ll find us out riding our mountain bikes on the amazing trails across SE Queensland. Watches and bikes, father and son – a perfect combination.

Meet Kai - our loyal four-legged team member and honorary timekeeper. Whether she’s snoozing under the office desk, keeping us company in the car, or joining us at the park after a long day, she’s always part of the office rhythm. She might not know much about movements or serial numbers, but she’s never late for a walk or playtime!
